WOMEN'S SUBSCRIPTION ENTERPRISE (WSE)

Help create a brighter future for a disadvantaged woman...

The Club has formed a partnership with The Big issue in support of their newest initiative - the Women's Subscription Enterprise (WSE).

With more than 46,000 Australian women homeless every night without safe or secure housing, The Big Issue has developed the Women's Subscription Enterprise to create employment opportunities for homeless and disadvantaged women who are ready to make a change in their lives.

Women are employed to sort and dispatch subscription copies of The Big Issue magazine ready for distribution, helping them gain new skills and the confidence they need to break the cycle of poverty for themselves and their children.

Katrina (pictured to the right) has been assisted by WSE - read more about her by clicking here or on her photo.

Every 100 subscriptions of The Big Issue magazine sold provides 1 job for a disadvantaged woman - every subscription helps!

SO, HOW CAN YOU HELP?

The Club has set a target of 300 subscription sales - or the creation of work and training opportunities for three disadvantaged women.

THE CHALLENGE:

One subscription sale per member.

SO HOW DOES IT WORK?

Members are invited to participate in one or more of the following ways:

  • Become a subscriber or use their personal networks to generate subscription sales
  • Canvas local neighbourhood businesses
  • Compile a list of corporate contacts to introduce to The Big Issue
