Membership - 2003/2004

The Membership Committee reports that we have a total of 271 members, seven more than this time last year.

There has been a focus on retaining members and an additional Committee this year has been enquiring into why some members do not stay with us.

The New Members Committee works to make sure that new members are integrated into the Club and have improved the mentor system.

The membership induction process has been refined too.

You will be aware that the Club's Statement Of Rules and By-Laws now comply with the Associations Incorporation Act.  Much work went on behind the scenes to achieve this.  At the same time, the method of electing new members was reviewed and changes were accepted and incorporated in the revision of the Club's Rules & By-Laws.  At the request of the District Governor, a set of guidelines now exists to assist other Club's to meet the requirements of the Associations Incorporations Act.

Members will all appreciate that the make-up status of all Committee meetings have been widened so that the Club recognises a member's full contribution to the Club.

A very big task for the Membership Secretariat has been managing the day-to-day operation of the Club's database.  More of our members now know how to use the database.  The one-to-one training for our club members has been a big commitment in time for this Committee.
