Shine On Awards - 2004/2005

The Shine On Awards, presented by our Rotary District, recognise the abilities and service to the community by people with disability. 

Nominees by the Club are assisted to attend the District Awards Day. 

The three candidates nominated by the Club this Rotary year were Mr Chris EdwardsMs Kath McMillanand Ms Josie Sidoti.

1.                   Mr Chris Edwards - Chris was declared legally blind at 16.  He is IT qualified and is the Manager of RVIB College.

2.                   Ms Kath McMillan - Has had MS for 23 years.  She is a volunteer community worker and contributor to many MS programmes.

3.                   Ms Josie Sidoti - Josie has suffered severe hearing impairment from birth.  She has a cochlear implant.  Josie is a volunteer community worker who has a close working relationship with Better Hearing Australia.  She was recognised for her foster care work.

Awards were presented at the Rotary Club of Yarraville on 17th April 2005.
