This Award is made as a memorial to Sir John Reid, a member of the Rotary Club of Melbourne from 1936 to 1984 and is made to honour persons in the Victorian community whose service to that community is judged to be worthy of special notice.
As a mark of the high regard with which Frank Newman is held by his fellow Rotarians, the Club decided to name one of its annual Apprentices Awards in his honour.
