22nd April 2015 Speaker: Rebecca Wheatley National Centre for Australian Studies Monash University "100 Stories" a 2 year project funded by the Federal Government to collect the story of 100 ANZACS, develop a strategy and means for these to be available to all ages of the Australian community.
29th April 2015 Speaker: Gerry Phillips District 9800 Chair of ROMAC. Following Gerry's presentation at Hobart which not only received great reviews, vividly and graphically illustrated the amazing work of ROMAC especially for one young person currently at Monash Medical Centre.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Rotary Club of Melbourne has allocated the month of May 2015 to identify, substantiate, elaborate on Domestic Violence in our community and then to identify what the Rotary Club of Melbourne is currently doing and planning to do to address this growing problem.
Currently members of the Rotary club of Melbourne have two involvements, one a Committee formed under the Chairmanship of Chris Wang and including Corporate members NAB, PWC and the other for individual members direct with Rotary International and Cheryl Lacey is the focal point for that involvement.
Accordingly there will be the following:
6th May 2015 Speaker: Assistant Commissioner Dean McWhirter Victoria Police responsible for the management of VICPOL's response to Family violence in the community
13th May 2015 Speaker: Prof Kelsey Hegarty University of Melbourne An academic general practitioner who currently works as a Professor and leads an Abuse and Violence in primary care research program.
20th May 2015 Speaker: Fiona McCormack CEO Domestic Violence Victoria
27th May 2015 Speakers: Where to from Here for the Rotary Club of Melbourne Combined presentation from the two activities detailed above
3rd June 2015: Angus Mitchell Oration Laureate Prof Peter Doherty
10th June 2015 Speaker: Ms Kelly O'Dwyer MP Member for Higgins
17th June 2015: Vice President's Reports
24th June 2015: Presidential Change over
