Synopsis Of The Presentation:

Our guest speaker Wednesday last, Ian Smith spoke about from the invention during the First World War of the chemical manufacture of Ammonium Nitrate - and all its consequences - to reductions in Orica's carbon emissions equivalent to all the cars in Canberra, Ian painted a broad canvas. He left his hearers with a clear picture of Orica as a truly global Australian company and finished with a few pungent remarks on Australia's manufacturing industry. The key message here: the world is not going to keep helping us, we need to do it for ourselves.

It was a clear and stimulating presentation.
