The Welfare of The Elderly, together with the Melbourne City Council, organised a most successful Victorian Festival Lunch at Red Hill Estate for 36 elderly citizens during Senior's week.The funding came from the Footy Tipping Competition.
The Welfare of the Elderly Committee introduced a new Club Award, the Senior Citizen Award, made in the first year to John Kendall.
