THE ROTARY FOUNDATION - RCM INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE MEMBER INFORMATION
Members of the International Committee should familiarise themselves with the Grant processes and consider involving Sister Clubs in any project that RC Melbourne undertakes. There are substantial grants available for projects involving clubs from more than one country, for a project in a third country – which does, however, require a local partner club!
Any project asking for a Grant must fall within the six key priority areas:
- Peace and conflict prevention/ resolution
- Disease prevention and treatment
- Water and sanitation
- Maternal and child health
- Basic education and literacy
- Economic and community development
The table below shows by way of example how a commitment of $16,000 by one club can lead to a grant of $40,000.
For more information on a particular program, or to discuss the possibility of accessing a Foundation grant for a project of your committee, please contact the current year’s Foundation subcommittee Chair who will point you to the right person to help you.
Please be aware that the lead times for most grants are many months, and there is a lot of documentation to be arranged, including from the overseas partner(s) in the project. So do start early.
