Royce Abbey Award - 2012/2013

The Royce Abbey Award for 2012/2013 goes to Marion Macleod.

Marion was inducted into the Club on October 5, 2011 and immediately showed her keenness to learn as much about Rotary as she could in a short time by becoming involved in a variety of service and fellowship activities. Marion attended District Conference last year and quickly made her mark in Central Group 2 where she took the role of Group Captain this year.

A skilled practitioner in modern marketing methods, she became an active member of the Horizons Committee and made an immediate impact with her enthusiasm, “can do” attitude and positive and effervescent personality.  Her involvement culminated in providing extensive input into development of the Club’s Strategic Plan for 2013-14, and in particular the marketing and communications aspects of the Plan.

Marion has been quickly integrated into the Club and readily accepted by Club members.  Next year she will be continuing her role on the Horizons Committee as well as contributing to the Marketing and Communications Team and remaining as Group Captain.

She has exemplified “enthusiasm and commitment to the ideals of Rotary”, which is the essence of this Award.
